While working at Swanke Hayden Connell in New York City, Karina was on the design team of the World Trade Center offices of Shearson Lehmann American Express, the reconstruction of the Statue of Liberty and the design of the Trump Tower. Simultaneously, in her free time, following in the footsteps of her mother Antigone (High-Fashion coordinator and Interior Designer) she took private lessons and helped at the Atelier of Lisa Wassong, an art teacher of faux finishes at the Isabelle O’Neil Studio. Karina embarked on new projects, incorporating and applying her newly acquired personal technique to Estates, town houses, showrooms and yachts across the United States, Greece, Switzerland and London.

After the birth of her first child, Tatiana in 1988, she began her own company KSK Designs where she was involved mainly in renovations of townhouses and pre-war buildings, yet another one of her passions. Her projects include: The Hughes Residence, Sutton Place New York and the Harriman Estate, Sands Point, New York. She continued the architecture and design of an array of Legal and Medical Offices in New York and Athens, Yacht Interiors in Monte Carlo and Greece and countless private villas and estates throughout Europe.

Through her vast connections and client relations in the fields of design yachting, shipping and political fundraising, Karina was successful as an art dealer selling works of famous artists such as Chagall, Picasso, Mme. Vigee le Brun, Pissarro and others under KSK Fine Arts.

Karina, then met Sandy Littman, founder and owner of The American Glass Light Company where she designed a luxury neoclassical line of Lighting, wall paper, tables and furniture, fabrics carpeting and accessories such as tassels and trimming with semi precious stones, and also Littman’s residence on Fifth Avenue, as well as her showrooms. Karina, also designed main rooms in the Delano Roosevelt Mansion in Upstate New York as well as applying her signature wall paper in several rooms of the White House.

While in Greece, combining being a single mother of two, working as a presenter, and designing yachts and office interiors, Karina was her father, Perry Sava’s “right hand” in client and public relations. Upon the arrival of his distinguished clientele, Karina would greet, tour and assist the guests in order to make their trip to Greece on their yacht an extraordinary, treasured and outstanding experience, tending to every last detail.

Perry Sava of Pontos Shipping & Trading Inc. passed away on May 20, 2000. Karina has continued working in the Luxury Yacht Chartering field (“Pontos Imperial Yachting and Luxury Properties” a subsidiary of Pontos Shipping and Trading Inc.) in cooperation with CYachts – owned by Basil Condoyannis and Niki Kannelou, long-standing friends and partners of Pontos Shipping & Trading Inc.

Karina’s first international media exposure was through a CNN/Sports Illustrated production in 2001; the first swimsuit issue ever shot and filmed for Sports Illustrated in Greece. Hadjisava hosted morning television shows on Mega Channel – Greek national television network, was a contributor to CNN, Bloomberg and ZDF and the host of many interviews during the Athens 2004 Olympics, where she was active in promoting yachting, tourism and lifestyle in Greece. She also worked with the Australian Production Company Grainger Productions, where she co-hosted the series “Greece Is The Word”.

Aside from her television career, Hadjisava was a Sports Manager for All Stars Sports Management Group, handling the publicity of Olympic Athletes such as Theodoris Hadjitheodorou, Water Polo Champion and landing him an impressive endorsement for Sanex, a Colgate –Palmolive company, represented Alex Margaritis DTM racecar driver as well as others. Additionally, she helped raise funds for various high profile sports events and tournaments.
